Row erupts after Greek opposition leader questioned about 2009 earnings
New Democracy accused SYRIZA of “mudslinging” on Monday after the leftist party asked conservative leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis to answer questions regarding his 2009 derivation of wealth declaration (“pothen esches”).
In a statement, SYRIZA called on Mitsotakis to respond to allegations in Hot Doc magazine that he had failed to declare his wife’s business interests in 2009.
“The country is veering toward disaster and they are reading Hot Doc,” said New Democracy in response to SYRIZA’s statement.
“We will not let this disgracefulness stand,” added the conservatives.
