British Iraqi Kurds given more time to prepare depositions
The three Iraqi Kurds with British citizenship who were arrested in Alexandroupoli, northeastern Greece, over the weekend for smuggling arms and ammunition were on Tuesday given an additional 48 hours to prepare themselves before giving their depositions.
The three men decided to reject the defense lawyer appointed to them by judicial authorities and to hire another counselor from Komotini.
The suspects were allegedly planning to smuggle firearms and ammunition to Kurdish rebels in Turkey when they were caught.
