Ambulance driver pool to be made bigger
An amendment was submitted to Parliament Thursday which, if passed, would allow firemen and local authority workers to drive health centers’ ambulances.
Under the would-be law, any members of the fire service or municipal workers who have the right qualifications, including the appropriate driver’s permit and knowledge of first aid, would be allowed to drive the ambulances to make up for the shortage of staff at health centers, located in mostly non-urban areas.
