Police looking for high-end restaurateur over drug racket
A restaurateur from the upscale Athens neighborhood of Kolonaki was being sought on Wednesday on charges of trafficking illegal narcotics to patrons at his establishment and acquaintances as part of a larger drug racket.
Authorities have already arrested four Greeks and nine Albanians, one of whom is thought to have been responsible for smuggling cannabis and cocaine, among other drugs, from Albania into Greece, where it was sold to wealthy customers known by the restaurateur and other suspects.
Searches at the suspects’ homes uncovered other illegal substances, as well as 30,000 euros in cash, a gun and ammunition.
