Farmers set to bring protest to Athens
Greek farmers have decided to bring their protest over the left-led government’s planned pension reforms to Athens by driving their tractors to the city center on Friday.
Delegates from the 68 highway blockages meeting at Nikaia, in central Greece, also decided to turn down an invitation for talks with Agricultural Development and Food Minister Vangelis Apostolou in Parliament on Tuesday.
Farmers meanwhile agreed to escalate their action by extending the duration of their daily highway blockages across the country.
