Pedestrians to be submitted to body searches on Herodou Attikou Street
Pedestrians wanting to use Herodou Attikou Street, where the Maximos Mansion is located, will henceforth be obliged to undergo a body search by police, it was decided on Friday following two unexpected protests.
The decision was taken after a group of police officers staged an impromptu rally outside the residence of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to protest pension reforms. Later on Friday, a group of women sought to raise protest banners outside the building.
According to sources, police protection on the street will be intensified on protest days while pedestrians will be subjected to body searches.
