Major transport disruption in Athens for Thursday’s general strike
Public transport in Athens will be severely affected by Thursday’s general strike.
Transport unions announced on Monday that the metro, tram and electric railway (ISAP) will only run between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Buses will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., while trolley buses and the Proastiakos suburban railway will not operate at all.
Inter-city trains have also been cancelled, while gas stations will remain closed throughout the day.
Air traffic controllers have not announced any strike action so far.
Public transport will also be disrupted on Tuesday. The metro, tram and ISAP will not be available between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The suburban railway and inter-city trains will not be affected.
