Thessaloniki mayor to visit US to raise funding for Holocaust museum

Holocaust museumThessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris is expected to visit New York, Boston and Washington in early February in an effort to raise funding for the construction of a Holocaust museum in the northern port city.

The museum, to be housed in an old railway station, will commemorate the 46,000 Greek Jews who died in German concentration camps in World War II.
