Former PASOK chief calls for cooperation of pro-European forces
Former PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos on Monday called for “the broadest possible cooperation of pro-European, democratic forces.”
In an op-ed written just days after PASOK chief Fofi Gennimata reacted to Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s win in the New Democracy leadership contest by saying that there is a big gulf separating the conservatives from the Socialists, Venizelos took a different line and argued that the parties, which have shown “political responsibility” over the last few years, should find a way of cooperating.
Venizelos accused SYRIZA of not accepting the transformation it has been forced to make and continuing to “cause national damage.”
