Two men arrested for selling phoney drugs to cancer patients
Police in Larissa, central Greece, have detained two men aged 43 and 83 on suspicion of selling phoney drugs to cancer sufferers. According to investigators, the 43-year-old would approach cancer patients and convince them his accomplice manufactured a cure.
A policeman posing as patient met with the 43-year-old and paid him 3,000 euros for what was ostensibly the first dose of treatment.
The officer then went to the 83-year-old’s home to pick up the rest of his “treatment.”
Searches following the arrests turned up glass and plastic vials containing unidentified powders and liquids as well as assorted drugs.
