Family drama comes to a happy end in Thessaloniki
A police negotiator succeeded on Tuesday in talking a 43-year-old Thessaloniki man into surrendering after he forcibly held his two children, aged 3 and 6, and their mother in a residence overnight.
It was not clear whether the man and the woman lived together, but according to reports, the 43-year-old had an argument with the 38-year-old woman and locked the children and their mother in the house while wielding a knife and an air gun.
The incident reportedly began at around 9.30 p.m. on Monday night, with police surrounding the property in the early hours and bringing in a negotiator to speak to the disturbed man.
The mother and children are reported to be in good health.
