Earthquakes rattle Karpathos and Crete
An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck the island of Karpathos on Saturday.
The tremor’s epicenter was 17 kilometers southeast of the Dodecanese island.
The quake struck at 1 p.m. and did not cause any injuries or damage.
A day earlier, on Christmas Day, a 4.4-Richter quake was felt on Crete.
According to the Geodynamic Institute in Athens, its epicenter was 40 kilometers south of Ierapetra. It struck at 4.24 a.m.
No damage or injuries were reported.
