Greek PM says Cyprus, Egypt ties key to regional stability
Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Wednesday stressed the strategic importance of Greek cooperation with Cyprus and Egypt in achieving stability in the region.
“Greece and Cyprus are paragons of stability and this is very important given current volatility in the broader region,” the leftist premier said during a meeting with the Cypriot leader in Athens.
Anastasiades is in Athens to take part in a Greece-Cyprus-Egypt tripartite summit Wednesday.
In his comments, the island’s president expressed his hope that tripartite talks will strengthen cooperation among the Mediterranean neighbors.
