Grexit is in the past, says German ambassador in Athens
There is no danged or Greece leaving the eurozone, German Ambassador to Greece Peter Schoof said on Tuesday.
Schoof spoke at an event in Athens organized by the Centre for Democracy and Reconciliation in Southeast Europe (CDRSE) in the wake of the Greek government reacting angrily to a report claiming the German Embassy in Greece had referred to the country as a “rudderless ship” in a private report.
“Grexit is in the past,” he said, according to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency. “Neither the German chancellor, nor the German finance minister ever wanted it.”
