Forged papers on Lesvos lead to 12 arrests
Twelve people suspected of forging documents that they supplied to migrants on Lesvos have been arrested.
The suspects include 28-year-old Pakistani man who was the alleged ringleader and eight other Pakistanis. Three Greeks were also arrested. Two are bookshop owners and the third is an employee at one of the stores, both of which are located on Lesvos.
The National Intelligence Service (EYP) and the anti-terrorism squad had the lead role in tracing the alleged gang. Officers seized forged stamps, 53 bogus documents, 23 mobile phones and 1,550 euros in cash.
