Pharmacists suspend rolling 24-hour strikes, for now

Greek pharmacies were expected to serve customers across the country on Thursday and Friday after Greece's pharmacists association opted to suspend a series of rolling 24-hour strikes which started on Monday.

The strike action came in protest at government measures enabling non-pharmacists to open pharmacies, a prior action Greece has to pass as part of a new bailout agreement with its creditors.

The association's board was expected to meet again on Saturday with sources indicating that fresh industrial action could follow.
