Man shoots former business partner in village square
A 77-year-old man from the village of Lambeti in the prefecture of Ilia, in the Peloponnese, was detained by police on Wednesday after shooting dead a 58-year-old fellow villager over what appeared to be a business or property dispute.
According to local reports, the older man walked into a cafe in the village square where the victim was seated, told the other cafe patrons to “get out of the way” and fired a rifle at the 58-year-old, a retired police officer.
According to the Athens Macedonian News Agency, the dispute was related to a business that relatives of the assailant and victim had run together in the past.
