Thessaloniki university state funding to fall short next year
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki said Monday that its state funding next year will not be enough to cover its overheads.
The rector’s office issued a statement saying that, according to the draft budget, the institution is due to receive 11.9 million euros next year, which is a 20 percent reduction on this year’s funding.
However, it said that the university’s overheads come to 18.5 million. The reduction means that between 2009 and 2016, its funding will have been reduced by 73.5 percent.
