French President Hollande to address Greek Parliament next Friday
A scheduled visit to Athens next week by French President Francois Hollande will include a speech in Greece's Parliament on Friday, the French leader's office said.
Hollande, whose visit to Athens is scheduled for October 22 and 23, is to meet and dine with Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and to hold talks with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
Following Tsipras's reelection last month, Hollande had hailed the Greek leader for "courageously defending his stance and chiefly the agreement reached by the European Council on July 13."
He was referring to Tsipras's compromise with EU leaders that secured Greece's position in the euro and set down the basis for the country's third international bailout.
