Avramopoulos in Turkey to discuss EU Action Plan
European Immigration and Home Affairs Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos was expected in Ankara on Wednesday to discuss an Action Plan of measures designed to boost EU-Turkey cooperation on dealing with the ongoing migration crisis.
The Greek commissioner was expected to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and other senior officials.
On Tuesday European Council President Donald Tusk warned Turkey that it will only win concessions from the EU, such as easier travel visas, if it successfully reduces the flow of refugees reaching Europe.
