ADEDY to protest outside Greek Parliament on Friday
The umbrella union for Greek civil servants, ADEDY, has called a rally for Friday evening to protest the measures set out in a multi-bill of so-called prior actions demanded by Greece’s creditors, chiefly an increase to the retirement age and reductions to pensions for those who retire before the age of 67.
The rally is to start at 7 p.m. in Syntagma Square outside Parliament, where MPs will be debating the multi-bill ahead of a vote due later that night.
In a written statement on Tuesday, ADEDY called on Greeks to “stop the implementation of measures that will continue the destruction of society” and to “clash and overturn” policies being pursued by creditors.
