Tsipras to set out policy program ahead of Wednesday confidence vote
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is to set out his government’s policy programme in Parliament on Monday evening.
Tsipras will explain what his government hopes to achieve over the next four years and is expected to focus on where it will try to soften the impact of the measures Greece has to adopt as part of its third bailout.
Tsipras’s speech, which coincides with the submission of the draft 2016 budget to Parliament, is due to begin at 7.30 p.m. and marks the start of a three-day parliamentary debate that will conclude with a confidence vote at midnight on Wednesday.
On Sunday, Parliament elected SYRIZA’s Nikos Voutsis as its new speaker.
