Corfu tax office’s safe box targeted

Unknown assailants broke into Corfu’s tax office early Monday morning, authorities said.

The suspects reportedly entered the premises by digging a hole through the wall.

Authorities believe the perpetrators were targeting the bureau’s safe box, but it remained unclear Monday whether they had managed to break into it or if they had retrieved any cash.
