Ex-procurements chief and four others to stand trial on money-laundering charges
A council of appeal court judges decided Tuesday that five people, including the former head of procurement at the Defense Ministry, Yiannis Sbokos, should stand trial on money-laundering charges.
Sbokos is already serving a sentence after being convicted for his part in the scandal involving ex-defense minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos, who has been given a life sentence for accepting bribes as parts of arms deals while he was in office.
Sbokos and four businessman are now facing separate money-laundering and bribery charges.
