Prosecutor wraps up soccer match fixing inquiry
Anti-corruption prosecutor Giorgos Andreadis has completed his investigation into the alleged formation of a criminal gang to fix soccer matches, sources said Friday.
Andreadis is due to forward the case file he has compiled to the Athens Appeals Court after collecting a last piece of testimony from former national soccer team coach Fernando Santos, sources said. Santos was asked to give a deposition in connection to a match between Olympiakos and Atromitos in February 2015 that authorities suspect was fixed.
A total of 16 people, including top club and federation officials, are suspected of working together to fix the results of Greek soccer games.
