Anti-fascist protesters gather at Korydallos for Golden Dawn trial
Anti-fascist protesters gathered on Tuesday morning outside Korydallos Prison near Piraeus, for the resumption of the trial of Golden Dawn, the far-right party accused of constituting a criminal organization.
The party came under investigation following the September 2013 murder by a member of rapper Pavlos Fyssas, after evidence allegedly emerged suggesting that the perpetrator did not act alone but as part of a hierarchy.
A rally has been organized in Piraeus on Friday to mark the anniversary of Fyssas’s fatal stabbing. Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos is due to give a pre-election speech in the port city on the same day, with activists demanding that it be canceled.
