Court approves request for more teacher hirings

The Council of State on Thursday approved the hiring of hundreds of teachers even though the awarding of public sector jobs is normally banned during election periods.

The administrative court found that the hirings were justified by shortages at schools, which had been exacerbated by the departure of 3,339 teachers since January.
