Fire breaks out in Xylokastro, northern Peloponnese

Dozens of firefighters were on Tuesday battling a wildfire that broke out in a remote part of Xylokastro, a seaside town in the northern Peloponnese.

The fire began early in the morning, prompting an immediate response from the fire service as the area is a popular summer resort.

Authorities assured that no people or homes were at risk and said that three water-dropping planes were helping the effort to put out the blaze.
