Robbers targeted holidaymakers’ homes in Voula

Police in Athens on Friday arrested a 26-year-old man who, along with accomplices, is suspected of robbing at least eight homes in the affluent southern Athenian suburb of Voula after ascertaining that the residents were away on their summer holidays.

The suspect was released from prison, where he was serving an eight-year sentence for similar offenses, in October 2014.

Police are looking for his three suspected accomplices, all young Roma, like the suspect.
