Constantopoulou to form own political party, report says

Senior SYRIZA MP and House Speaker Zoe Constantopoulou is set to form her own party ahead of snap polls expected next month, according to a report Wednesday.

Quoting close Constantopoulou aides, the Efimerida ton Syntakton newspaper said she plans to cooperate with Popular Unity, the breakaway SYRIZA party founded last week by former energy minister Panayiotis Lafazanis.

According to the same report, Constantopoulou is in talks with leftist veteran Manolis Glezos, a former SYRIZA Euro MP.
