Body found in Thessaloniki paint factory fire
The body of a man estimated to be around 40 years old was found in the ashes of a paint factory fire in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, on Tuesday, the fire service said.
The man’s remains have been removed from the premises, with authorities hoping to make a positive identification before the end of the day.
The body was found near what is believed to be the point of origin of the blaze, which broke out earlier in the day at a paint factory in the industrial zone of Sindos on the outskirts of the city.
Five fire trucks remain at the scene to ensure that the highly flammable material at the plant does not reignite, while experts investigate the cause of the blaze.
