Police on Crete seek Iraklio killer
Police on Crete have stepped up their search for the perpetrator behind a vicious assault on a 71-year-old man in the area of Moires, near the port of Iraklio, on Thursday.
The 71-year-old was found dead in his home on Thursday by his daughter.
He had been stabbed several times in the throat, chest and stomach, according to police.
The motive behind the attack remained unclear but police indicated that it was unlikely a robbery as cash was found in the dead man’s trouser pockets and there were no signs that the house had been searched.
The fact that there was no sign of a break-in suggests that the victim knew his attacker, or attackers.
