Wife killer remanded near port of Patra
A 60-year-old man accused of killing his 57-year-old wife and leaving his 30-year-old son injured after a stabbing spree at their home in the area of Krya Itea near the port of Patra, western Greece, was remanded in custody on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning following an argument, according to local reports.
The 60-year-old was to be transferred to Attica’s high-security Korydallos Prison and, according to sources, his lawyer has asked for him to undergo tests at the prison’s psychiatric clinic.
The man’s 30-year-old son was still in the intensive-care unit of a Patra hospital on Tuesday and was said to be in a stable condition.
