Parliament lifts immunity of ND, Golden Dawn MPs
Greek Parliament on Wednesday voted to lift the immunity from prosecution of two deputies, New Democracy’s Vassilis Giogiakas and Golden Dawn’s Ilias Kasidiaris.
Gogiakas is involved in a case regarding the installation of photovoltaics on a plot of land during his tenure as governor of Thesprotia, northwestern Greece.
Kasidiaris’s immunity was lifted in connection to an incident outside the Athens court complex where he allegedly attacked a cameraman. The Golden Dawn spokesman is also a defendant on an ongoing trial over the party’s alleged criminal activities.
