Police arrest 11 people suspected of gun running

Eleven people have been arrested in Attica and various other parts of the country on suspicion of gun running.

Police also seized some 80 firearms during the raids they conducted.

Those arrested are aged between 27 and 65.

The gangs were cooperating with criminals in Bulgaria to get hold of the illegal weapons.

Police believe the local gangs have sold around 50 firearms and ammunition to customers in the last five months.
