PASOK central political committee to convene Saturday
PASOK’s central political committee is due to meet on Saturday to elect new representatives for the party’s main bodies in the wake of Fofi Gennimata replacing Evangelos Venizelos as leader.
Ahead of the meeting PASOK MP Odysseas Constantinopoulos, who ran against Gennimata in the recent leadership race, wrote to the party president to express concern that the Socialists are being used by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
“The prime minister and the government want to exploit the opposition’s support not for the country’s benefit but for their own narrow-minded political benefits.”
Constantinopoulos proposed a new meeting for party leaders so Gennimata could express these concerns to Tsipras and for PASOK’s central committee to meet to discuss the matter.
