Coroner seeks to ID man found drowned in river
A coroner on Thursday was trying to identify the remains of a man found floating in the Pineios River on the outskirts of Larissa, central Greece, by a passer-by late on Wednesday.
The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, with the initial autopsy revealing that drowning, rather than foul play, was the cause of death.
Police believe the body may be that of a man who was known in the area as a beggar, and who went missing from the streets of the city several days ago.
