Greece must go back to square one on debt relief, EU says
Greece forfeited a November 2012 offer of debt relief by letting its bailout expire and is starting from a blank slate in seeking easier repayment terms, European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said.
“This offer is not on the table any more, the whole program is not on the table any more,” Dombrovskis told reporters Monday in Brussels after Greek voters rejected aid terms. He said European governments are “ready to look” at debt relief in a new round of bargaining.
