Greek president says ‘we must walk the tough road ahead with unity’
Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said “today is a day for the citizens and only them,” as he cast his ballot in Sunday’s referendum in the leafy northern suburb of Psychico.
“Citizens are being called upon to decide according to their conscience and solely with the public and national interest, the future of the country, in mind,” Pavlopoulos told reporters.
“Irrespective of the result, we must walk the tough road ahead with unity. This is what our forefathers did in the past and this is our duty today,” Pavlopoulos said.
