Gov’t spokesman dismisses opposition MP’s claim of drachma plan
Government spokesman Gavriil Sakellaridis on Tuesday dismissed as “monumental irresponsibility” comments by the former general secretary for public revenues, Haris Theoharis, who claimed that a working group has been formed to manage a transition to the drachma.
Theoharis, who is the parliamentary spokesman for centrist To Potami, said that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras's office has formed a working group with officials from the State General Accounting office, “which is working right now for the drachma.”
“Today's statement by Mr Theoharis, other than a science-fiction scenario, is also monumental irresponsibility,” Sakellaridis said. “Especially so coming from the representative of a party that likes to preach responsibility.”
