Foreign minister briefs ambassadors on developments for tourists
Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias met with the ambassadors of European Union countries as well US Ambassador David Pearce (photo) to brief them about the latest developments in Greece, particularly with respect to banking activity.
A number of foreign governments have issued advice to their citizens regarding what precautions they need to take now that banks in Greece are closed and capital controls are in place.
“US citizens are encouraged to carry more than one means of payment (cash, debit cards, credit cards), and make sure to have enough cash on hand to cover emergencies and any unexpected delays,” said the US State Department.
