Suspected kidnappers detained on island of Salamina
Four men were arrested on the island of Salamina, near Piraeus, on suspicion of kidnapping and attempted rape on Saturday.
The suspects, all Pakistanis aged between 20 and 34, are alleged to have entered a home occupied by a young couple from where they kidnapped a 24-year-old man and attempted to rape his 22-year-old girlfriend.
The four men then took the man to another house, where they called his father in Pakistan and demanded a 5,000-euro ransom.
His father paid the amount in question to an accomplice of the kidnappers, who then released their victim.
