Technical talks resume in Brussels prior to Tsipras, institutions meeting
Technical discussions between Greek officials and representatives of the European Union, the European Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund resumed in Brussels at 6 a.m. local time after Greek premier Alexis Tsipras left talks at the European Commission with representatives of the institutions after 1 a.m. on Thursday without an agreement between Greece and its lenders, the Athens-Macedonian news agency reported.
“Where there’s a will, there’s a way,” noted EU Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici on his Twitter account early Thursday.
Meanwhile, Tsipras was scheduled to participate in a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde, European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi, Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem and Klaus Regling, head of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), at 9 a.m. local time, the news agency reported.
