Almost 240 immigrants collected in the Aegean
Greek coast guard has over the past 24 hours located and collected a total of 237 undocumented migrants in seven separate incidents in the Aegean, authorities said Wednesday.
Rescue operations were conducted off the islands of Lesvos, Chios and Kos in the eastern Aegean, authorities said.
No more details were made immediately available.
The majority of migrants entering Greece today come from Syria and Afghanistan, with many using Greece as a transit point on their way to western and northern Europe.
