Former Greek minister under scrutiny for wasted subsidies
The Supreme Court has forwarded to Parliament a case file concerning the possible criminal liability of former Deputy Development Minister Athanasios Skordas in state subsidies given to a recycling company.
The case was investigated by two anti-corruption prosecutors, Angeliki Triantafyllou and Popi Papandreou.
It has led to them issuing corruption charges against two ministry employees and the head of Skordas’s office at the ministry.
The company received 40 percent of the funding it needed for a 2.5-billion-euro project from the state but the work was never completed.
