To Potami chief seeks meeting of political leaders ahead of emergency summit
Greece’s political leaders need to sit down and discuss ongoing Greek debt negotiations before the government heads to an emergency summit of eurozone heads of state on Monday, opposition To Potami chief Stavros Theodorakis said on Friday.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, Theodorakis urged Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to convene a meeting of “political leaders who believe in democracy and in Europe.”
His comments came a day after talks between Athens and the European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund collapsed, stoking concerns about Greece’s future in the common currency bloc and triggering an emergency eurozone summit.
