Low temperatures in Greece expected to drop further from Sunday
While strong, icy winds and snowstorms abated in most parts of the country on Friday, giving way to sunny skies, temperatures remained at unusually low levels and are expected to plummet further as of Sunday night, meteorologists have warned.
Snow which had fallen during the week continued to cause problems on several roads in upland areas on the outskirts of Athens, as well as in the Peloponnese.
Northern Greece is still seeing the worst of the weather, with floods in Rhodope, strong winds on the Egnatia Highway and ice warnings on the roads of Kastoria, Florina and Ioannina.
