Police arrest man suspected of killing family of three in northern Greece
Police in Thessaloniki on Friday arrested a 60-year-old man who is accused of shooting and killing a family of three in their home in the suburb of Oreokastro.
According to initial reports, the suspect was armed with a knife and a gun when he forced his way into the home. He allegedly shot the mother, aged 43, father, aged 55 and allegedly the suspect’s brother-in-law, and their 12-year-old son at close range.
He then allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping off the top-floor balcony of the two-story home. He is currently being treated for injuries at a local hospital under police guard.
The reasons why he attacked the family remained unclear.
