First Greek Norman Atlantic passenger confirmed as dead now listed as missing
The first Greek passenger of the Norman Atlantic ferry who was confirmed as dead has now been listed as missing.
Italian authorities said on Thursday evening that Giorgos Doulis was not among the 10 people whose bodies have been recovered following the disaster.
His son was asked to identify his body earlier this week but failed to do so. The Italian search and rescue center admitted that there had been a mistake in its earlier assessment that Doulis was among the 10 bodies that have so far been found.
Until Thursday, authorities believed that there were three Greeks among the 10 dead confirmed so far. This was expected to rise to four after the family of a Greek truck driver was asked to travel to Italy to identify his body.
