Stoppage on Athens metro, electric railway and tram on Wednesday
There will be no metro, electric railway or tram in Athens between noon and 4 p.m. on Wednesday due to a work stoppage by employees.
Unions said on Monday that they are taking the action because the management at STASY, the company that operates fixed track modes of public transport, has so far failed to sign a new collective contract.
The labor groups said they see this as an effort to move workers onto individual contracts that would lead to fewer rights and lower wages.
